This exclusive and iconic journey traverses the Okavango Delta from west to east, capturing the essence of Botswana’s “jewel of the Kalahari” and the spirit of exploration on land, water and in the air. It visits the prime game viewing areas of Hunda Island, Mombo and Chitabe and, combined with the iconic water and unique wildlife experiences offered at Pelo and Xigera, makes for a thrilling and all-encompassing Okavango Delta safari.

The varied safari activities coupled with the exclusive transfers – many not offered on other itineraries or explorations – present a unique opportunity to visit unchartered areas within the Okavango Delta, in true explorer style. Furthermore, this journey includes a wide range of accommodation types allowing for authentic nights ‘sleeping wild’ in basic dome tents and unashamed luxury in our Classic and Premier camps.

Many of our guides are skilled photographers – from making sure that the safari vehicle is situated in the best location to checking your camera settings where necessary, they are on hand to ensure you capture the best possible images.

Exploration – 9 nights /10 days from Maun to Maun

21 – 22 Jul: Tubu Tree Camp, Jao Concession, Okavango Delta

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives exploring Hunda Island.

23 – 24 Jul: Pelo Camp, Jao Concession, Okavango Delta

After a light breakfast at Tubu Tree, depart on foot for the Tubu Boat Station arriving in the late morning. From here transfer by boat and mokoro to the intimate and remote island that is Pelo Camp.

A true water camp, Pelo is all about mokoro and boating. The nights are spent ‘sleeping wild’ in basic dome tents, allowing for an authentic sense of immersion into the wildness of the Okavango Delta.

25Jul: Xigera Camp, Xigera Concession, Okavango Delta

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic and thrilling helicopter ride over the shimmering landscape to Xigera, arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon safari activity.

26– 27 Jul: Mombo Camp, Mombo Concession, Okavango Delta

After breakfast at Xigera, transfer by boat to Chief’s Island. On arrival a vehicle will meet you and take you to the much revered Mombo Camp. Spend the next two days exploring the wildlife-rich area.

28 – 29 Jul: Chitabe Camp, Chitabe Concession, Botswana

After a morning safari at Mombo, transfer by light aircraft to Chitabe Camp. Spend your final two days on safari enjoying the classic Delta scenery and diverse wildlife of Chitabe.

30 Jul:

After a morning safari at Chitabe Camp, you will be transferred by light aircraft to Maun and bid farewell to your adventure.
